You never told us that your mom was a dinosaur. Must be very cool ;-) I think this is a great idea to bring back - learning phone manners in school. Granted kids would laugh at it, I think if we introduce these types of things early on and start making them the norm not the exception (kind of like uniforms) at some point it might actually change the psyche of some youth. They also talk about cyberbullying and we have an honor code that includes not using cell phones on campus during the school day. Your phone must be OFF and in your LOCKER during school hours. One time a kid answered a text during a test and almost got suspended but it turned out it was his mom!! nOw they tell the parents not to text till after 3pm.
