#8 – You can do anything if you set your mind to it.

This isn’t always easy to remember.  There are times when I know I can do it if I really try.  It’s just sometimes I’d rather be doing something else than what I should do.   Even though I’m a good student in school, believe me, there are many times I’d rather be playing than doing homework.   For adults, I’m sure there are days when you don’t want to go to work or get a project done.

For a kid, this can even happen if you’re playing a game.  For instance, I’ve tried some video games that are really hard.  Even though it’s fun, it’s still frustrating but usually if I keep trying, I’ll figure it out somehow. And there’s no reason you can’t ask for help if you need it.  Remember BizTip #6?  That kind of goes along with this one too.

So the trick is to try and remember what the end result is if you just get it done.  Focus on what you want and quick stalling.  Pretty soon, you’ll find that you made it.  Then the cool part is, when you look back, you’ll probably say, “that wasn’t so hard.”  Or maybe if it really was hard, you might think, “whew! I did it even though it was tough.”  Either way, it’s a good feeling to know YOU DID IT!!!

Then give yourself a BIG pat on the back.
