Pencil Bugs - Charitable Giving

"Made by a kid but not just for kids!"

For the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2010, I decided to combine my donations to Rady Children's Hospital. Even though the economy has affected Pencil Bugs a little, I still think it's important to continue donating and as I always say, every little bit helps.

I love shopping for the kids when all the stores have their back-to-school sales. The staff at Rady Children's Hospital goes through thousands and thousands of color crayons each year giving them to the kids to keep busy. So anytime I can buy crayons at a good price, I load up.

Notebooks are also good gifts as I've heard some of the older kids like to keep journals while they are in the hospital. But I also wanted to buy a few fun things like dominoes, puzzles and board games and those colorful squishy toys that light up which are tons of fun for kids, even me!

The next time you're in a store like Target, Wal-Mart, or K-Mart, pick up a few extra school supplies like crayons, pens, or notebooks and send or deliver them to your local hospital. It doesn't take much effort to make a difference in someone else's life.
